Pediatric Dermatology

Skin problems can be stressful for children and their families. Our pediatric visits are designed to be gentle and age-appropriate, with close attention to a child’s comfort. We take time to explain what we are doing in a way children can understand and help them feel involved and in control.

Our goal is to earn a child’s cooperation through trust, preparation, and clear explanation. Except in situations where immediate treatment is required to prevent serious harm, we work to ensure a child is comfortable and ready before moving forward, while partnering closely with parents and caregivers to provide appropriate medical care.

  • Microwave device treatment for warts
    • Microwave-based therapy is a non-invasive treatment option that may be considered for certain warts, including in children. The treatment delivers brief, targeted heat to the wart to help stimulate the body’s immune response.Because this approach does not involve cutting, injections, or blistering, it may be an option for select pediatric patients who have difficulty tolerating other treatments. Treatment is performed in the office, often requires more than one session, and improvement occurs gradually over time. This treatment is not covered by insurance, and coverage and expected costs are reviewed before proceeding.
